A nymph of Thebes and a favorite of Athena. She was the mother of the blind prophet Tiresias.1

Chariclo was a close companion of the goddess Athena. She married the shepherd Everes and gave birth to Tiresias. When Athena blinded her son for accidentally seeing her bathe, Chariclo pleaded for his sight. Athena could not undo the curse, but gave him the gift of prophecy instead.2
