Celaeno is one of the Pleiades, a daughter of Atlas and Pleione. By Poseidon she bore Lycus, whom the god set in the Islands of the Blest. She is distinct from Celaeno the Harpy.

Apollodorus names Celaeno among the Pleiades and says Poseidon lay with her first among the sisters, begetting Lycus (Bibliotheca 3.10.1).
