In Greek mythology, Asterion (also Asterius) of Pellene is an Argonaut, brother of Amphion, son either of Hyperasius son of Pelles or — in rival notices — of Hippasus or of Pyremus and Antigone daughter of Pheres. He is kept distinct from Asterion the Cretan foster-father of Minos, from the Minotaur, and from the Thessalian Argonaut Asterion of Peirasia.

I.Argonaut from Pellene
Apollonius, Apollodorus, and Valerius Flaccus place Asterius or Asterion among the Argonauts with his brother Amphion, sons of Hyperasius of Pellene (Pausanias knows the Achaean city). Rival notices name Hypso as mother or Hippasus as father; Hyginus also offers Pyremus and Antigone of Pellene, or Hyperasius from Piresia at the foot of Phylleus.
The atlas residence follows the Pellenean Hyperasid identity shared with amphion-pella; the Piresian alternate remains a source variant, not a second node.
II.Homonym care
The atlas id asterion-pellene is the Pellenean Argonaut alone. Distinct from Asterion/Asterius king of Crete, the Minotaur, the Giant Asterius, the Peirasian Argonaut son of Cometes, and the Neleid Asterius slain by Heracles at Pylos.
