In Greek mythology, Arne (Ancient Greek Ἄρνη) may name several figures. The atlas node arne-siphnos is the impious Siphnian woman who betrayed her city for gold when Minos mustered the Cyclades, and whom the gods changed into a black-footed, black-winged daw that ever since delights in gold — Ovid's metamorphosis of greed.

Ovid's Metamorphoses, among Minos' island allies against Athens, names the place which Arne the impious Siphnian had betrayed: having received the gold she demanded, she was transformed into a bird that imagines gold its chief delight.
Homonym care: not Arne the nymph nurse of Poseidon, not Arne daughter of Aeolus (mother of Boeotus), not the rare tradition that makes Arne mother of Jason. The atlas id is the Siphnian metamorphosis alone.
