In Greek mythology, Acessamenus (Ancient Greek Ἀκεσσάμενος) was a king of Pieria, founder and eponym of Akesamenai in Macedonia. In the Iliad he is remembered as father of several daughters, the eldest of whom, Periboea, bore Pelagon to the river-god Axius — the lineage Asteropaeus claims beside Scamander.

I.Grandfather of Asteropaeus' line
When Asteropaeus faces Achilles by Scamander, he traces his blood through Pelegon, whom Axius begot upon Periboea, eldest daughter of Acessamenus. Outside Homer, the same name is the Pierian founder of Akesamenai.
